The prospect of a no deal Brexit still looms large and as such the impact on family law remains as real as ever. A no deal would cause a wide range of issues for matrimonial law due to the close link between English and European Law. The entire basis of jurisdiction in a divorce could be at risk. Any future regulation is likely to be based on any deal reached with the EU, if of course there is one. If individuals are contemplating starting divorce proceedings then it might be sensible to act now rather than wait until the uncertain future.

The UK and its laws are intrinsically linked with Europe and these include many EU laws which govern cross-border family cases.
